The history
Overboard Designs furniture and an gallery is located in the heart of the seaside township of Sorrento
on
the Mornington Peninsula. Renowned for producing quality indoor and outdoor furnishings from
both sustainable and
recycled timbers the business is situated on the historical sight of Redman's Joinery
This joinery was originally started
by Harry Redman in 1947,and became known for its production of
the finest handmade furniture products for the residents of
Portsea and surrounding areas.
That reputation for craftsmanship has been maintained by the current business, and now
its hand made furniture is in demand throughout Australia.
The products are manufactured using all Australian hardwoods and many refined imported timbers, and
are custom
made to individual customers needs. Of particular interest is the unique furnishings
manufactured using recycled
timbers recovered from throughout Victoria. A visit to the site not only
introduces you to a display of the exquisite furniture,
but also presents the opportunity to view the
original Joinery where all production still takes place.
